Welcome to the new Pewter Mart website. We are very excited about our new look and our on-line catalog. It will be easy for you to find items of interest. Our items consist exclusively of pewter and books about pewter. There are a great number of antique and semi-antique items listed (we're still getting our inventory setup on the site-bear with us). Additional items of interest are constantly added and we will be adding more on a regular basis, so check back frequently. Of special interest are the finest new pewter wares made in England sent directly to Pewter Mart by A R Wentworth of Sheffield.
Our list of antique pewter wares has been hand selected by Jack Scott, author of Pewter Wares From Sheffield and contributor to Pewter of Great Britain. His personal collection has been donated to the City Museum of Sheffield.
You will find each of the wares offered here, with very few exceptions, to be clearly identified as to who made it, where it was made and when it was made. Many pieces have been gently and expertly restored, ready for instant use, display or resale. The traditionally cast pieces are given a soft surface, while the Sheffield and 20th century American are carefully restored to their original luster. Of course, items in good "as found" unrestored condition are also offered.
Be sure to view our Gift Shop. We discovered years ago that 90 % of those who visited our antique shop came to look, not to buy. However, we have found that most of those going into a gift shop have a desire for unique gifts. Our Gift Shop is filled with seldom seen pewter items that are attractive wares of high quality with something for everyone, including children.
